Mike Hipsher

I’ve been running rivers for almost 50 years now, and running with Canyons on the Middle Fork and Main never gets old. I like the newness of spring and the high water that comes with it that freshens the river corridor annually from Boundary Creek to the confluence and downstream on the Main. I live and nordic ski on the snow in McCall and east of there in the winter just to keep track of the snowpack that our summer boating is based on. I’m just finishing up building a house in the McCall which my wife and I will call the last great place as we have built it in a single floor layout so we can get out of the car in the garage and get through the laundry room, kitchen, dining room, living room, to the bedroom without going up any stairs. I enjoy lots of different modes of transportation to see our Idaho wilderness – mtn biking, kayaking, rafting, hiking, skiing – even an occasional plane ride (just a passenger, I’m not a pilot)
