Ensi RowingTell us a little about yourself! Where did you grow up?

Hi! I am a born and raised McCal, Idaho local.

How did you find your way to the river?

I have only had one summer since being born where I wasn’t on the river! My parents ran a multi-day rafting company, and I grew up being a part of our company on and off the river. Now, I cannot imagine summers without the water.

If you could be a river super hero, what would you be?

For sure, a magical pancake fairy delivering pancakes at any time of the day.

What is your favorite dress up theme?

Any time when I can wear my pink wig

What is your ‘go to’ crazy hat night creation?

Oooo, I very much enjoy wearing anything but a hat on my head.

What brought you to Canyons?

Greg!

How many years have you worked here?

This will be my first year!

What is your favorite thing about Canyons?

If you could describe Canyons in 3 words?

YAY FOR RIVER

When you hear the word Idaho, what comes to mind?

The most beautiful scenery while doing the most amazing activities

What are your top three favorite camps?

I can’t be biased; any camp along the side of the river is amazing.

Your favorite hike?

Any hike that leads me to some long powder turns!

Top three favorite rapids?

High water, Rollercoaster on the Snake, Rush Creek on the Snake, and China on the Salmon!

Currently, what is your nemesis rapid?

I like to make friends with all of them, so no nemesis 🙂

What river do you want to run that you haven’t yet?

The GRAND canyon

What do you consider a ‘real’ job?

Anything that allows me to make enough money to buy a ski pass

If you could only have one kayak in your quiver, what would it be and why?

A cute one ;). Look good, feel good. (I’m still learning how to kayak, if you cannot tell)

What is your favorite thing to cook on the river?

Mashed potatoes

If you could take a musician or band down the river today, who would it be?

The Steeldrivers!

What is your most memorable swim in a river?

An on-purpose swim in Green Canyon

What is one of your river rituals or superstitions?

I always carry a few rocks in my PFD. They were found in Hells Canyon on one of my favorite trips.

What is the most valued non-river-related item that you bring with you on every trip?

My toothbrush!

What is your favorite groover spot?

One with a view so good I don’t want to read a magazine.
