From the wet side of Oregon country and as the son of former wilderness therapists and guides, Clark was privileged to grow up rafting. This included piling their old 16’ Aire and a variety of family and friends together for an annual pilgrimage to naco’x kuus, the Salmon, which he considers to be his primordial river, and with whom he has worked since 2019. For Clark, guiding has been a vehicle to get to know many incredible places, people, and things, and although these days more of his time is taken up by filmmaking, financial work, and non-profit co-directorship, he is delighted to be working for Canyons and to continue to kindle the flame.
Outside of work, Clark’s chosen methods of play are kayak, paraglider, foot, flipper, and motor/bicycle (not necessarily in that order). He gets fired up about evolutionary anthropology, natural history, geography, language learning, and armchair philosophy.
