Annie DeAngelo

Annie loves a good adventure, big or small. Whether a self-support whitewater SUP trip, a search for soft snow, a backpacking trip with a gourmet menu, a day at the crag or anything else, Annie is (almost always) game. Annie grew up on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and has fond memories of getting tumbled around in the surf. When she moved to Idaho, she missed surfing, sailing, swimming and body boarding but soon found that Idaho did in fact have whitewater, just in a different form! Since her first trip down the Main Salmon in 2013, she has been hooked. A lifelong learner, Annie spent the first decade of her career teaching, spending the school year as a classroom teacher and the summers as an outdoor educator for National Geographic and NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). Since retiring from the classroom, Annie has shifted her focus to the outdoors. Annie loves spending time otuside with others and helping people develop the skills to become lifelong outdoor lovers. When not on the river, you can find her in Ketchum, ID with her partner, Toria, and their dog, Xander. When Annie grows up, she wants to be a polyglot with a green thumb who has chipped away at the climate crisis.
