Driving Options for the Main Salmon

You may choose the Drive Option if you are local, regionally local or you prefer to take some time to see our beautiful state before and after your river trip.

**YOU are responsible for making your own vehicle shuttle arrangements.

Driving logistics without a boat:

Option #1:

• Begin your trip in Salmon, Idaho.
• Meet our shuttle bus at the Salmon airport at 9 am on the morning of your trip launch.
• Pre-arrange to have your vehicle shuttled to the McCall airport.  River Shuttles or [email protected]
• Arrive at the McCall airport around 3:30 pm on the last day of your trip, where your vehicle should be waiting for you.

Option #2:

• Begin your trip in Salmon, Idaho.
• Meet our shuttle bus at the Salmon airport at 9 am on the morning of your trip launch.
• Park your vehicle for free at the Salmon airport
• On the last day of your trip take a one-way scenic backcountry flight back to Salmon, arriving around 6 pm.

Option #3

• Begin your trip in McCall, Idaho.
• Take a 1-way scenic backcountry flight at 7:30 am on the morning of your trip launch from McCall, Idaho. Arrive in Salmon, ID and take our shuttle bus into the river.
• Leave your vehicle parked for free at the McCall airport.
• On the last day of your trip, ride our shuttle bus out to McCall, where your vehicle will be waiting for you, arriving around 3:30 pm.

Driving logistics with a boat:

***You are responsible for getting your boat to and from the river.

Option #1

• Stay in a hotel in Salmon, Idaho the night before your trip.
• Drive into Corn Creek Boat Launch the morning of your trip, planning to arrive at the boat ramp no later than 10 am.
• Pre-arrange for your vehicle to be shuttled from Corn Creek to Carey Creek. River Shuttles or [email protected]
• On the last day of your trip, your vehicle will be waiting for you at the take-out.

Option #2

• Camp on the river the night before your trip launch.
• Drive into Corn Creek Boat Launch the day before your trip and camp in the USFS campground at Corn Creek.
• Pre-arrange to have your vehicle shuttled from Corn Creek to Carey Creek.  River Shuttles or [email protected]
• On the last day of your trip, your vehicle will be waiting for you at the take-out.

***Kayakers/Canoeists can call our office to discuss having their vehicle shuttled to the McCall airport instead of Carey Creek.

***Note- If you are renting a car that will need to be shuttled, you will need a Third Party Driver agreement. The Hertz-Boise Airport location offers this.
