Family Time.

Bring them together!

family vacation multi-generational

With family scattered across the country and sometimes across the globe, the need to bring multi-generational family members together is all too great. And what a better location than the beautiful beaches, warm waters and fun exciting whitewater of the Main Salmon River in central Idaho.

Splash about!

What kid doesn’t like splashing about in the water, building sandcastles, swimming, frolicking and letting their imagination run wild. Shoot, what adult doesn’t? On the Main Salmon, there are unlimited opportunities to play, create, explore and adventure. In the afternoons we set up camp on beautiful white-sand beaches next to big swimming holes. Beyond the edges of the beaches, pine forests beckon the imagination of the curious child, overflowing with props for fort building, costume making, fairy, and troll hunting and exploring.

Learn new things!

Learning new skills on the river

With the warm and friendly waters of the Main Salmon, people of all ages can explore their boundaries and try new things. We provide inflatable kayaks and stand up paddleboards for everyone to try. There are calm waters at camp, at lunch stops, and on the water throughout the day. As we travel down the river, there are numerous rapids of varying difficulty, offering all abilities an opportunity to try their hand at a little whitewater in a small craft (if they so desire).

Slumber Party!

The weather on the Main Salmon is a campers dream come true, with warm to hot temperatures during the day and cool temps at night. With crisp clear air and a sky full of stars, the sleep out opportunities are a must-do! Imagine waking up to the milky way lighting up the night sky, bright enough to walk by. With soft sand under your back, fresh air, starry skies above your head and the lulling sound of the river in the background, you just may get the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had!

Relax hard!

Kick back and take a nap. You are on vacation. Pull up a spot in the shade and catch some shut-eye.  When was the last time you allowed yourself to snooze midday? Leave the hard work to us and enjoy having some downtime. We will make you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All you have to do is pack your own camp gear, make your own campsite at night and enjoy yourself. Play hard, relax hard or both, your choice, it’s your vacation!

Play harder!

Family fun jumping in the river

Jump, laugh, splash, tackle, swim, play, explore, adventure! Immerse yourself in nature with your loved ones. Unleash your inner child and enjoy the simple pleasures of frolicking on the river. With sun, sand and pleasant water temperatures, it’s like being at the beach but with new scenery and adventures every day.

Get Duckie with it!

The Main Salmon has class III-IV whitewater and is super fun for inflatable kayaks. No experience necessary. The nature of the river is pool and drop, which translates to calm before and after each rapid, allowing ample time for preparation and recovery. Inflatable kayaks are incredibly stable, easy to paddle and possible to self-rescue (i.e. re-right the craft and get back in by yourself). Many a guest have come with no prior experience and had the time of their lives in these great crafts.

Get your paddle on!

Don’t want to sit around but not wanting to man your own craft? You can try the social paddle boat and paddle as a team. Guided by one of our fabulous guides, you will participate in getting the raft down the river and through the rapids. A great way to get some exercise, have some interesting conversations and learn about the history of the river while dipping and doing it.

Stretch it out!

Every morning we host an optional stretching circle. Loosen up your body, stretch out those strange new rafting muscles and limber up for the days’ exciting activities.

Eat fresh local foods!

local idaho potatoes

We source our food locally as much as possible. At our warehouse, we grow radishes, herbs, potatoes, and sunflowers. Our fruits and veggies are primarily purchased from local farmers. And our meats are regionally local to the northwest. All of our meals are prepared fresh daily by our multi-talented Guides.

Tell stories!family telling stories riverside

There is no place like the river to make stories and tell stories! As the saying goes, “What happens on the river, stays on the river”. Come, make some stories of your own. Put away the cell phones, smartphones, computers, and tablets and unplug with your family and friends. Give you and yours the gift of being present with one another.
