Nicky has been with Canyons since 2023, and he can’t seem to get enough of the Frank Church Wilderness. He discovered his love of rivers as a student at Colorado Mountain College in 2015, when he took a rafting course that included a five-day river trip down the Colorado River. Ever since, Nicky has quenched his thirst for running whitewater by working on and exploring rivers around the world. Nicky has worked as a raft guide and safety kayaker in Colorado, Arizona, Mexico, and Chile, and last year traveled to Africa to kayak the Zambezi! He now resides in White Salmon, Washington, which he considers the Mecca of whitewater kayaking. In addition to being a great cook and an amateur fireside guitar player, Nicky is also an instructor of swiftwater rescue for the Swiftwater Safety Institute. Currently, he is pursuing a career as a firefighter. Don’t worry: he’ll always find time to guide some Canyons trips on the Salmon River!”
