Kaya is a southern girl who found the river after working in sustainability and non-profit management. Since embracing the guide life she has worked rivers in the Southeast, Pacific Northwest, and Northern California. She studied Entrepreneurship and Outdoor Recreation at Prescott College where she is currently pursuing an MBA. She is passionate about promoting inclusivity and stewardship in the outdoors community.
Her personal boat is a 12-foot shredder-style raft named Bobkitten that she has designed and built for minimalist multi-day excursions. If you’ve experienced the luxuries available on a raft-supported river trip, replete with a big camp kitchen, delicious dutch oven meals, thick foam pads to sleep on, and a big gear boat that can haul almost anything you could need or want on the river, well, there isn’t room for any of that on Bobkitten. She gets it done with backpacking style gear and few luxuries: a good book, a beautiful river, and a friendly paddle partner.
